iRSM®

The Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM®) is a highly specialized Clinic and Research Institute, located at the Misericordia Community Hospital.

iRSM® provides life-long care to individuals who are born with parts of the head or neck missing, or who may have lost these features due to cancer or injury.  Treatment is provided through reconstructive surgery, facial and bone implants, custom prosthetic devices, and rehabilitation to allow patients an improved quality of life. The Institute also conducts research aimed at improving treatment to better meet patient needs.  Currently, iRSM® is one of only three specialized centers’ for head and neck reconstruction in the world.

Through our many fundraising efforts Covenant Foundation has raised over $500,000; directed toward the expansion of iRSM®

This expansion added 4 new patient treatment rooms:

  • Be specially equipped stations to complete prosthetic work
  •  Provide efficiency and help to prevent and control infection, at the site of care
  • Increase patient throughput, decrease wait times and relieve backlogs in care

In the past your donation to Covenant Foundation has allowed us to purchase the 3DMD scanner for the advancement in the field of facial prosthetics, and to contribute $500,000.00 to the iRSM® endowment fund.
