After Covenant Health’s Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre’s bus broke down, nearly 500 residents were left without group transportation to and from various community programs in and around Edmonton.
Thanks to the Community Initiatives Program (CIP) Project-Based Grant funded by the Government of Alberta through the Alberta Lottery Fund, Covenant Foundation has received over $55,000 to put towards the purchase of a new shuttle bus for the residents at the EGCCC.
The CIP funds projects that enhance and enrich communities throughout Alberta by providing assistance for projects such as equipment purchases, facility construction or renovation projects, hosting/travel/special requests and more.
The EGCCC residents can look forward to having a new transportation option in the fall of 2016.
