Covenant Foundation Welcomes New Board Chair
Covenant Foundation is excited to welcome a new era of leadership with the appointment of Sett Policicchio as chair of the Covenant Foundation Board of Directors. This marks an inspiring new chapter for the Foundation as it continues to elevate health care across Alberta.
Sett brings more than 40 years of executive leadership experience and over a decade of board service across both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Most recently, as chair of Catholic Social Services, he led initiatives that strengthened community partnerships and improved outcomes for clients, reflecting his commitment to thoughtful stewardship and continuous improvement.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to help translate a strong mission and growing momentum into lasting impact,” Sett shared. “The Foundation is at a pivotal point, building on a solid legacy while responding to evolving donor expectations, health-care pressures and new opportunities for innovation in philanthropy.”
Sett is focused on ensuring donor generosity is stewarded with clarity, trust and purpose, while keeping people at the center of the Foundation’s work. His leadership will help align philanthropy with the most urgent healthcare needs across the province, where generosity translates into meaningful and lasting outcomes for Albertans.
“In a short time, Sett has already demonstrated the leadership, integrity, and strategic thinking that will serve our Foundation well,” said Tim Spelliscy, Covenant Health Board Chair. “We are confident his guidance will significantly strengthen our mission and impact.”
Sett also believes the role of philanthropy in health care has never been more critical.
“Philanthropy ensures compassion, dignity and excellence remain at the heart of care,” he shared. “It allows communities to come together to support patients and families in moments of vulnerability while enabling innovation and better outcomes that public funding alone cannot always provide.”
