Stuffing a bus for the Veterans Food Bank of Calgary

Staff and residents at Evanston Summit, our Covenant Living centre in Calgary, recently took part in a Stuff a Bus food drive, with proceeds going to the Veterans Food Bank of Calgary. Spearheaded by Victoria Slany, activities coordinator, and Mikee Ames, marketing coordinator, the multiweek-long campaign included local businesses throughout the Evanston community and ended in a large Stuff a Bus event on December 11. In total, the campaign collected 1,055 pounds of food and an additional $540 in gift cards for the city’s veterans.

Special thanks to Save-On-Foods Panorama Hills for donating space for the bus and a table inside the store, as well as to many other organizations for helping to bring joy to veterans, including Starbucks, Energize Health, Love Dental, Fingerwave Salon & Spa, Pixie’s Candy Parlour, Holy Cross Manor, St. Marguerite Manor, Royal Bank, Rexall, Evanston Barber Shop and Shoppers Drug Mart.
