It takes just one ticket to win — and on September 15, Janice Barnes learned she held that lucky ticket!
With winning ticket #1815, Janice took home half of the $9,640 raised through Covenant Foundation's Banff 50/50 cash raffle in support of Covenant Health's Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.
Thanks to everyone in the Bow Valley region and across Alberta who bought tickets, Janice's big win is also a vital win for local health care. Proceeds from the raffle will help support the areas of greatest need at the Banff hospital — from compassionate programs and services, to leading-edge research and education, and state-of-the-art equipment.
“The raffle was an opportunity to acknowledge the vital care the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital provides to our Bow Valley residents and visitors,” says Lori Bayne, chair of the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital Community Board.
Covenant's hospital in Banff provides 24/7 emergency care for patients, acts as a rural learning centre for residents in emergency medicine and nursing, and includes the St. Martha’s Place continuing care wing that offers recreational and therapeutic supports to residents and families.
